Normally, you cannot use WhatsApp on a computer system without actually downloading the official pc software. But in this article, you’ll learn how to access and use WhatsApp messenger on any PC irrespective of the system OS and specification.

This is not the use of WhatsApp web which works on all PC web browsers. Read on to discover the trick; this method is more flexible and comfortable.

Do you know your Opera PC browser grants you access to lots of things you probably do not think is possible? WhatsApping comfortably on PC is one of those things it allows you to do. So, you’ll need to download any of the newer versions of Opera Mini PC browser to get started with this tutorial on “How-To access and use WhatsApp on PC without downloading the software”.

Once you download the Opera Mini PC browser, run the installation package and follow the on-screen prompts to properly install it on your PC. If you previously have the Opera Mini browser, check for new versions and install updates. If your version is among the newer versions then you’re all set for this tutorial.

Step one: On PC

Launch the Opera PC browser on your computer and set it up (for new users). On the home page, look to your left, you’ll see a sidebar pinned to this end. Usually, the full available options for this sidebar are not activated by default which may cause you not to see the WhatsApp messenger option.

To activate the full features available on this left sidebar, place your mouse on the sidebar and right-click. On the menu that will appear, click on any of the options you wish to activate. In the screenshot below, you can see I activated the Facebook Messenger, Telegram Messenger and WhatsApp messenger alongside other useful tools.

Activate the WhatsApp option and click on it when it appears on the sidebar; you’ll be requested to scan the displayed QR code using the WhatsApp web option on the mobile version of the app.

Step Two: On mobile

Open the WhatsApp messenger on your smartphone, locate the more options drop down menu (usually represented with 3 horizontal dotted line at the top-right of the app window).

Click on the more options and further click on the “WhatsApp Web” option. Now, tap the (+) button; this will activate your phone’s camera with which you’ll use to scan the QR code which appeared on the Opera browser WhatsApp option.

Set the camera to perfectly capture the QR code and you are all set.

Once you have scanned the QR code, your WhatsApp will be activated on your PC without you downloading any software.

This method is very flexible and more comfortable than using the PC software; you can easily minimize the tab and continue with your browsing.
